AAdvantage release seats last minute

Do AA release saver award last minute seats? Is their any way to get them to do so over the phone. I have a flight tomorrow which has two empty business seats (bookable at standard awards) and I have economy saver reserved. Any way I can get them to upgrade/change the business seat to saver award level?

Sometimes they open up seats closer in. If there are only two seats left then most likely no.

And no, they will not open a seat for you.
