With these preloaded simple mobile Sims,  though very cheap you'll need to be ok with using goggle voice and setting it up every month, you'll need to deal with the dealer to set it up - can't do it directly with simple mobile - some dealers are more reliable and simpler and quicker then others (some sellers have online set up some you need to call in and some you need to eBay message seller to set it up) . I would also suggest not to wait till final day of month to setup next month. You can't stock up on sims cuz a lot have expiration dates and a lot of dealers are being shut down... You also can't  rely on this to last forever cuz it can be shut down any time. If you're ready to go through all these steps you save a lot of $. Enjoy it while it lasts

For a couple dollars a month I don't see how I can go wrong. I'll just forward my Google voice number to it

Yes. Every month connect Google voice to the new number and only give out your Google voice number and set it up so all calls are via Google voice and use the Google voice app or hangouts for sms.

I've done this for a year so far. No hitches yet. The prices fluctuate a bit, but nothing ridiculous. B'h there's almost nothing online about this. Some companies blacklist imei's, but if they dont ask you for it you're safe. Just keep a low profile and NEVER CALL THE PHONE COMPANY!!!!!
