Hershel's Bora Bora TR

I'll be IY"H departing from JFK-LAX early morning (June 21st)

I got a robo call from AA at 2AM that my flight was delayed due to bad weather, will be departing 2 hours late, Which means that I'd be arriving within an hour of my connection, the Air Tahiti Nui flight to PPT.

I immediately called AA and they were able to put me on an earlier flight which was not delayed, but they only had J available,  i was originally booked in F Revenue .

I took the offer, i couldn't afford to miss my connection.

Would i be able to get compensated by AA for the downgrade?

Data point.  Bags were checked in to LAX.

AA refused to check the bags all the way to PPT even though i was promised that i can. Oh well

Not sure if you are traveling alone or with a companion, but when traveling with a companion I like their J better
