Topic Wiki

Here is my Excel template to keep track of all of my credit card stuff.

The first tab contains the instructions. I included some of my own entries as examples so you will know what to fill in where.

I put in almost everything possible I could think of. Only thing I'm missing that I didn't get around to adding is the spending bonuses by category (e.g. travel, gas, etc.).

Enjoy. If you have any suggestions, comments, or improvements, Please let me know, I'd love to fix it.

Update- when editing, DO NOT modify any of the tables in the Dashboards (except expected money and debts), ONLY modify data in the Credit Card master sheet and Bank master sheet. The Dashboards contain what is called Pivot Tables and they automatically update when you refresh the data.

I'm not sure how to include an attachment in a wiki, so the file can be downloaded from the first post in this thread.

in Excel 2013 it's in the "Data" tab on top, towards the left... not sure about older versions, but you can google it

1. Starting salary for big 4 accountants is ~ 55k . calculate by hour, working ~80 hr weeks for 3 plus months = close to minimum wage.

From another accountant, I know firms that pay more than 55 for starting salary and require only 60 hour weeks for 3 months = much more than minimum wage.

Using the numbers above, we're talking ~$23/hour. That's not minimum wage. I hope I'm not sounding like I'm trying to defend the industry too much here because I am far from in love with it. :P Just arguing the devil's advocate.

Shoobi,

very nicely done. I hope it helps a lot of people.

suggestion: i know you already have the instructions. but i would tell people that everything is a PivotTable and uneditable and that the only way to edit your card is via the credit cards master sheet.
very geshmak.

I am also an Excel junky.
I also have made some side income designing spreadsheets for business.
I would add list data validation with a dropdown to the to the status fields, annual fee fields, type field, maybe even the bank, issuer, fields it makes it easier to set and gaurentee the value is right for the filters in the pivot tables
