To this day, I'd personally pick the elegance, beauty, and comfort of the EY suite over the EK suite.

Now, it's not fair to compare the EY 777 vs. EK A380, and I, too, would take the EK A380 if those were 2 choices, due to the amenities on an A380.

But, comparing the EY A380 to EK A380, and I'd pick the EY version every time.

FWIW, for all those who wonder about feeling skittish in a Muslim country, I'll add my experience:  Wife and I took the kids (then 10, 8, 6)  to Petra via taxi from Aqaba crossing back in 2010, so we have a little idea of what it's like to be in a Muslim country (though I recognize that Jordan is not Dubai, etc.).  We were treated with respect and felt comfortable, not threatened at all.

But EK a380 vs. EY 777 isn't even comparable in my eyes, besides the amenities -  shower, bar, etc. the seat itself on EK a380 is more comfortable, newer and just so much nicer all around. Plus the soft product of EK was way above EY. There's only 1 thing EY has over EK which is that due to that lack of clutter around the seat, it's more spacious.

Because it needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance and I was hoping that when I landed in AMM that they would let me switch to the 8am flight to TLV, and the time I found out that they wouldn't switch my flight, it was too late to order the chauffer.

When I ordered my chauffer to take me to LAX, the EY rep on the phone said I can order it for AMM also. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about?
