Approved by the medical profession. What do you take it to mean?
Say there is much evidence that it it is counterproductive and many medical professionals consider it unwarranted irreversible mutilation. Automatic pass because some medical quacks believe in it in lieu of religion?

Asking if you are ok with states prosecuting parents for legal acts in another state is a strawman argument?

I don't believe you asked this question when California passed a law saying that they would become a "sanctuary state" for kids who transition. Do you believe a state should be allowed to ignore a child's home state's custody laws?

So this is about religion?

I answered your question what about my meaning (medically approved) now what is your meaning, so we are on the same page?

Classic strawman. Why don't you answer the simple question. I will tell you why. It will blow your argument out of the water!!!

I know you @avromie7 have been following but not one post after you posted this garbage. Why is that?  :)
If you take your child to Africa for FGM you can be prosecuted for it when you get back, why is this different?

"Federal law 18 U.S. Code § 116 'Female Genital Mutilation', as amended by the STOP FGM Act 2020, makes it illegal to perform FGM in the U.S. and was amended in 2013 to make it illegal to knowingly transport a girl out of the U.S. for the purpose of FGM."

You started out with this statement.

What happen to the right believing in parents deciding what they feel is best for their children? They are so FOS it is ridicules!!!

When that argument didn't fly you tried making it about the legality of performing procedures in other states where it's legal.

Was a link to the bill or text of the bill posted here? I glanced at the CBS article in the beginning of the discussion but didn't notice a link to it. Did anyone here read the bill?

Just seen excerpts. I don't read bills.  :)
“Whoever knowingly removes or causes, permits, or facilitates the removal of a child from this state for the purpose of facilitating any act prohibited … by this section shall be guilty of a felony,”

Having read the amendment to the bill, and not just gone off the headlines:
The republican majority seems to have introduced an amendment to strike this from the bill https://legiscan.com/ID/text/H0071/2023

So this is about religion?
This is about insanity in lieu of religion. Wokeism is a cult.

Did they strike calling it a felony to give the child blocking medication?
This bill is wrong on so many levels.

The way to hell is paved with good intentions. 1930's Germany was filled with ostensibly the most compassionate of people. Many of Nazi leadership were vegetarians.

This bill is wrong on so many levels.
Blocking medication has serious side effects and aren't just "Pressing pause" like they'd have you believe. They are high-powered drugs repurposed for something never intended without long-term testing.
From the bill: No long-term randomized studies evaluate the efficacy or safety of the use of puberty blockers for the purpose of treating gender dyspho ria, and no randomized clinical trials have been conducted on the efficacy or safety of the use of cross-sex hormones in adults or children for the purpose of treating gender dysphoria.
