Many security cameras make for a far more convenient baby monitor / nanny cam.

Not necessarily a good deal but I use this camera, works great over wifi with the app.

Check alert options

But baby cameras have a nice option for sound alerts that exceed a certain dB level

Be careful with these "deals".
Many are just scams and rely on impulse buying:

You could get very decent ones (many different brands make similar ones, I have a HooToo which I'm very happy with) on sale for around $70 regularly and on an even better deal for around $60 at times.

The only thing I found missing that some baby monitors have is an option to talk to the baby over the monitor or play songs for them. Imho it's not worth paying more for those features.

If you got the prime deal it would have been $288. Just goes to show how well their scheme is working, relying on impulse buying....The deal was sold out after 4 minutes. But if you get each item separately at regular price its cheaper than the prime deal.
