Do you have a clue what may have triggered it that you got it now?

They advised it could take a few days before all the accounts have it, as long as account was open before 12/5.

I have a VX account with miles but no AS account.

Should I open an Alaska account in order to get the 10K bonus?

Quote
If you only have a Virgin America account and not an Alaska account you should get an email asking you to open an Alaska account to claim your choice of 10K miles or $100 off a flight.

Can I book a OW ticket JFK-LAX have a 2 day stopover in LA then continue on LAX-SFO on the same ticket booked with Mileage Plan?

If so, does it need to be booked by phone? I see availability from JFK-LAX and LAX-SFO but when I try doing a multi-city trip it comes up with nothing.

I see flights for both segments on VX.

Dan wrote on DDMS that "The only reason to transfer now is to redeem an award with Alaska. Otherwise you can let your points stay on the Virgin America side and wait until you need Alaska miles or until they forcibly transfer all points over to Alaska."

Is it certain that they will continue to convert VX to Alaska at 1.3?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Is VX considered a partner for an award ticket, or as AS itself?

for the partner booking fee they're definitely considered AS but I'm not sure if they let combining VX with another airline
