Dan keeps talking about 711 being listed as a gas station (for bonus spending) but they refuse to accept CC'S for any gc's even for a 7-11 gift card! any suggestions?

Or a worker that's clueless. 7-11 has got many of those. I once bought gc's at 7-11 where official policy is no cc. I get into my car, and the other worker comes running after me, all freaked out, asking for my license and cc, bec. He wanted a copy of it. And I told him I did nothing wrong, good bye, and drove off.

No problem. I actually did originally show my I.d. Matching the cc when I bought them. When the guy came chasing me, I told him that, but he was all scared of his boss. He started taking pictures of my license plate, and vin number, all the while threatening that he's going to report me to the police. I literally burst out laughing in his face. Imagine that phone call.

I've tried eight seven-eleven stores in los angeles.

all said no credit card for one vanillas. Two rang them up and then when i tried to pay with Freedom they the register would only accept cash or debit card.

whats the move here to get the 7500 freedom points. Other gas stations dont have gift cards.

Does Kohl's? Any advice appreciated...

First, try not to cross post. Second, it's definitely not hard coded, since I've done it at seven eleven. You just got to find the right store, and the right rep.

+1 It's not hardcoded. But I will advise you to try to buy one $500 card at a time. I've had problems when trying to buy two.

The rep rang it up and i was asked to swipe the card for $504.95

It was the register that denied it. "it said show CC and ID to cashier" and then his screen denied it.

maybe it's hardcoded in California?

Thanks for the info though, I will keep trying, although I'm running out of stores!

When I've bought gc's I've got the same message, and I showed my I.d. and it was all good.
Sometimes too dumb is a bad thing - the cashier doesn't know what he's doing.
I highly doubt it's hard coded for one specific state.

Ok, then I stand corrected. I just don't understand how they can hardcore specific branches on one state, or city. If it's one chain then it should be all stores, and if it's each store to it's own, then how can all in one state be connected ?
