Some 7/11 post as gas, others post as grocery convenience. You have to make a test purchase to see how your store codes. In CT, some code as gas. In NYC some code as convenience store.

Sure they do. OBC was hammered at gas stations for years.

Just avoided a scare. Confirmed via above link, that the 7-11 I was at is coded as gas station.

Right, but I'm pretty sure most people just happen to be asking about 7-11/gas right now because of the 5% bonus on Freedom, which is Visa.

I bought a slurpee in NJ (at a 7-11 that doesn't sell gas) and amex shows it as "GAS/MSC95 20447701". Does that mean it would earn the bonus points on OBC? (It was on EDP so I can't tell by the amount of points I got.)
