Does it say gas on your statement? I think it posts initially as gas but changes over to convenience.

Some 7/11 post as gas, others post as grocery convenience. You have to make a test purchase to see how your store codes. In CT, some code as gas. In NYC some code as convenience store.

I did some testing in Central NJ. All the ones I tried coded as gas stations, and posted 5x on Freedom.

Actually, I had a pretty strange situation.

I grabbed 3 vgc and tried 1 freedom, declined. Tried another freedom, declined.

I called chase, checked my email, no fraud alert.

Tried 1 vgc, got a fraud alert, cleared up by email and then it went through... Dunno why.

The cashier did speak English too well, so maybe that was part of the problem

sometimes 711 's own systems will deny a transaction, had that in the past

IME it allows 2 cards at once but won't let 3 cards in one day(even in seperate transactions) with the same cc. Has happened to me a few times all without fraud alerts.

That makes sense, because the 3 card try didn't even cause a fraud alert

You can also tell by seeing when it gets declined. Their system blocks it right after you swipe before pressing credit. If its blocked by the issuer it happens after pressing credit.

Interesting,I thought whenever it happened to me its been after...unless it gets declined after the cashier puts in the last 4 digits but before signing?
