Topic Wiki

Amex is usually very accomodating with giving the credits.

When you choose to pay with Amex Express Checkout, you will be prompted for your User ID and Password. You need to enter the same User ID and Password that you use to log in to the americanexpress.com web site. If your card can't be managed via the americanexpress.com web site, you can't use that card to pay via Amex Express Checkout. Therefore, only credit and charge cards issued by American Express can be used. Bluebird, Serve, Target Prepaid RedCard, American Express for Target, other prepaid Amex cards, Amex cards issued by other banks such as USAA, PenFed, Bank of America, Citi, etc. can't be used with Amex Express Checkout.

1) $10 credit will apply for any purchase off the approved vendor list. $0.01 minimum purchase.
2) Main cards & AU's are eligible.
3) Same login is OK to reuse
4) If a card (from the login you're in)doesn't show up during Amex checkout, maximize the checkout window and scroll down.
5) You can add your AU cards to 1 login or you can make a login for themselves (to save future offers?)
6) $10 Credit will show up after a few days
7) Smile & thank Amex

 8) add more au's, rinse and repeat!

Deadline: 9/7/15

I have spent hours trying to fix this for myself and have not gotten anywhere. And this is with getting all SSN's updated.
You were trying to create a separate log in, or add them to an existing Amex account ?

Created new logins for AU and adding all their cards to it. Some worked, some would not work or some would work but ask me to create a new login ID.

I wish i got as far as getting some of my cards setup. There comes a point where it is just not worth my time trying to deal with this now.

I haven't had any issues adding AU to online accounts, but then again I always added SSN and opened them online. Interesting stuff.

I think that has become the issue. Needs to be added initially.

Well this may not be true. I am trying to add AU cards which were set up with SSN and they are not adding online. Some AU worked, but i have a bunch which will not.

Not if he was asking from a practical perspective, ie can it be done.

I make a separate login for each and every au. I don't lump any aus together in one account. That being said I have never had any issues doing this over the phone aside from the occasional rep who says it can't be done without ssn. Just did 5 more last night

-1 had no problem adding AU to an account without SSN attached. Unless creating a seperate login is different.

Why?
Because I never have any issues doing it that way. Although I never tried adding them together. I just find its very easy to take advantage of Amex offers this way. Its a bit of a pain setting them up the first time but there's no issues with it

According to amex rep who confirmed with supervisor you have to create a different user ID and password for each AU

Downside of multiple logins is more names/passwords to keep track of. What's the upside?

More names and passwords is not really a big deal. It's not as if I login to them on a daily basis. I have a spreadsheet with all logins and passwords and when a good Amex offer comes up i just quickly go through each account. Takes about 20 seconds each.
Upside is no real issues setting up the accounts & very easy to take advantage of offers without losing it after saving to one card. No need for multiple tabs or anything
