Topic Wiki

Amex is usually very accomodating with giving the credits.

When you choose to pay with Amex Express Checkout, you will be prompted for your User ID and Password. You need to enter the same User ID and Password that you use to log in to the americanexpress.com web site. If your card can't be managed via the americanexpress.com web site, you can't use that card to pay via Amex Express Checkout. Therefore, only credit and charge cards issued by American Express can be used. Bluebird, Serve, Target Prepaid RedCard, American Express for Target, other prepaid Amex cards, Amex cards issued by other banks such as USAA, PenFed, Bank of America, Citi, etc. can't be used with Amex Express Checkout.

1) $10 credit will apply for any purchase off the approved vendor list. $0.01 minimum purchase.
2) Main cards & AU's are eligible.
3) Same login is OK to reuse
4) If a card (from the login you're in)doesn't show up during Amex checkout, maximize the checkout window and scroll down.
5) You can add your AU cards to 1 login or you can make a login for themselves (to save future offers?)
6) $10 Credit will show up after a few days
7) Smile & thank Amex

 8) add more au's, rinse and repeat!

Deadline: 9/7/15

$10 seems the cheapest.

But you can buy an $11 gift card, and apply the $10 gift card as payment, leaving $1 on your card.

Is anyone else having issues with Sabon saying "do not honor" at checkout? Maybe it's because of ^^

For sabon whoever is getting charged tax that's a good thing.

Here's why:

Buy 1 $10 gift card

use that gift card to buy another one

pay the tax with your amex

keep doing for all your amex cards.

You will buying $10 credit for whatever your tax is, plus you will get $1 from them for every one, plus at the end you will only have 1 gift card from them. the rest will be cold hard statement credit
Thanx for the idea! Didn't do mine yet

Wrong. Instead keep buying gift cards worth $1 more (i.e., $11, $12, etc.) Then email Sabon with a list of your order numbers to refund the tax. You'll get the best actual value this way.

That's worse value since you will be spending $1 to get $9 credit

this way your spending $0.89 (in NY) to get $9.11 credit

However you are correct if just buy $10.01 gift card then your only spending $0.01 to get $9.99 credit

So the best option is to order one $10 gc and then use that and Amex to buy a $10.01 gc & keep repeating that process?

Besides i wouldn't want to contact them asking for tax refund and then having them cancelling the order for buying a gift card with a gift card

I hear you, but I'd rather spend the extra 11 cents and
1. Get an extra $1 value at Sabon vs. no extra value
2. not run the risk that they will end up going back and refunding tax on their own, leaving me with no charges on my Amex for all my work (this is the real reason)

So best method is to order a $10.01 (or $10.05 just to be safe) and keep increasing in $0.01 or $0.05 increments

That way if they refund the tax you still paid something out of pocket
