Read additional info and fine prints by following the URL.

Beginning July 15th, calls to, from and between the U.S., Mexico & Canada − whether mobile or landline

Mod note: spoke with T-Mobile and I was told it also works with their prepaid plans. New "home coverage area" is now USA, Mexico and Canada.

This is just great, thanks for the info! Right now I'm paying $47 a line including taxes for a two lines plan after the 15% "employee" discount.

Any way I can use this cheaply for a few short trips throughout the year without paying for service all year? I'm on a Verizon family plan and don't want to switch my regular plan to T-Mobile. What's the cheapest/shortest prepaid plan this will work with?

I'm really starting to understand why they discontinued their daily plans ;)

They are desperate, but they put pressure on the BIG 2. Their service sucks.

In my office tmobile is the only one with full bars lte. 50mbps down! I use sprint but just saying... Whatever works best where you are most often is my motto.
Sprint is better in my home.

You obviously haven't heard of their current reconversion of old 2g bands to 4g ;)

Google T-Mobile employee discount. They ask you to enter your work email to check if you qualify. In my case, my school email qualified me as they don't differentiate between students and faculty for schools. However, for newer companies they only do a one time $20 or $25 discount for new lines.

I AM a TMO customer.....Their service sucks! However I am very happy to not have that good service vs. paying triple for VZW.

May I ask where are you located and what type of phone do you use? I'm mostly in NYC and I must say I am extremely happy with their service. Same goes out of the country. I've had instances where I had good service at places I couldn't get verizon service :D
In no case do I feel that I "settled" for T-Mobile.

+1 still not cheap enough unfortunately, I have an Israeli and a french sim that run me $4 and $5 per month respectively. They are unlimited international with 4g. I keep them open all year long as they are worth it even if I only travel to these destinations once in the year for Internet itself.
Yes I did try to market the Golan plans here for tourists, and no they won't let me as it would be unfair competition to all the American companies ripping off people on a daily basis. Actually the plans marketed to tourists in Israel are also more expensive than the regular plans!

Check if the 700MHz spectrum reconversion affects your area and if you have a compatible phone. You might be in luck.
And if you're talking about the country, I'm pretty sure I've heard that also other major carriers don't work there.

The 700 MHZ you are referring to is for LTE only, so far calls don;t go through LTE. I am talking about basic 2G coverage is bad in some places. They are becoming better though.
