Missed one flight, LIH-HNL on erev shabbos after getting a flat on the way.

"Flat tire rule" indeed.

Wow, totally forgot about that one! Updated my original post.

This is embarrassing...

AA MIA-LGA missed flight Friday morning due to spending too much time in Centurion Lounge.
DW and myself were nr. 10 and 11 on standby list (of 16) for next flight. Long story short, we were really lucky as we were last 2 ppl to be allowed on board from standby list.

Nearly missed a flight last summer when doing a B6 run JFK-ROC with the family, arrived at the airport 40 minutes before the flight, me, my wife and 3 kids youngest was 9 months old, tried to check in a bag at the kiosk but didn't let it go (was less than 40 minutes by then) ran around to find a desk agent, line was short, she was willing to take my bag (finished checking in 30 minutes before the flight) ran to the TSA Pre line, luckily line was a lot shorter than the regular line, TSA started going thru every piece in the diaper bag to verify its content... finished TSA about 17 minutes before the flight, we ran with all the kids, I ran a little ahead arrived at the gate 14 minutes before the flight, sign already said flight closed... I handed the gate agent our boarding passed while the other family members are still schlepping from behind, and we BH made it...

Near miss at EWR last week.
TSA (the person I was with doesn't have pre-check) was longer than half an hour.
Got to the gate less than 5 min from from flight time. We were told we weren't even the last expected traveler.

- HA LIH-HNL-KOA, due to a flat tire (really :D). Went on standby for the next pair of flights and made Shabbos (two days of it) in the nick of time.
flat tire takes about 10 min. to change so that goes back to Dan's statement...

Once that I recall. EZE-GIG.

I actually missed my flight to Rio the other week when a taxi driver learned that we had called an Uber and he refused to leave the area.
Not exactly, but he made it clear that he was really pissed that we ordered an Uber and I wasn't going to leave the house into an empty street at 6AM with him ready for a fight. It's not like we were NY where I just call the cops and they come

We ended up calling a different taxi company and he actually followed us and told our taxi driver that we had ordered an Uber...
Uber was not showing any available cars at that hour. Ordered a taxi and soon after there was an Uber available. Called to cancel the taxi and they said no problem. A couple of minutes later someone knocks on the door and a family member - who's obviously unfamiliar with how Uber works - answers the door: Uber?!

That's the only one I can remember.
