I believe you need to hold the card at least 6 months.

After I go through the link, it said I could upgrade my Delta gold card to HHonors surpass card. The DL Gold was applied last Nov when 75k came out. I accepted. Now the DL card logo was replaced by Surpass in the online account.

Funny thing is, I applied a regular Amex Hilton card in June and still keep the card open. Now I have both regular and surpass amex card.

Will report back if I get the upgrade bonus for the surpass one.

I believe you need to hold the card at least 6 months.

12 months, not 6, and they absolutely will not bend the rules.  I've tried at length.

strange, non of the spend on old card appears on my account, not even as pending. Maybe when i activate the new card it will pop up.

I received this offer over the phone last week when I called to add more AU to my Hilton card in advance of SBS.  The rep told me that the fee would not be waived, but I could try to blow through the spending requirement within the first month, get the points then downgrade back to your old Hilton card. I was a bit taken aback that she would articulate such an idea.

The bonus points show on my statement but not visible yet in my hilton account. Will be there when my next statement closes. If I downgrade the card before they post, would I still get the points?
