LAX Car Rental - Payless Car rental / Fox Rent A Car / Advantage Rent a Car

I will be travelling to LAX for a week at the end of July. I was looking into car rentals and I saw that these 3 companies (Payless Car rental / Fox Rent A Car / Advantage Rent a Car) are all quite inexpensive, especially for renting a convertible.

I've found advantage and pay less to be significantly cheaper than the regular companies, has anyone has negative experiences with them?

It's hit or miss with these guys. I used them once, and everything was smooth - aside from the hour wait for pickup.

I have used them (Payless, Advantage) in LA a few years back. It is hit and miss, but more miss. At advantage I waited on line for some 2 hours for the car, as have many. Payless sometimes I have gotten good decent cars and other times not in good condition at all. So Its a real gamble with them. I personally would never rent from them.
