I just filled out the form at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ticketyourevent/ (thinking I would be a wise guy and set up a $5 event to entice you all and sell a million tickets and retire) and got the pricing e-mailed to me

Pricing
•   Contract execution, event & software set up - $2,000
•   Merchant bank processing for online & call center - 4% of face value
•   Retail outlet commission - 4% of face value
•   Ticket printing & stock - $0.50 per ticket
•   Training & client support - $500
•   Hardware - call to discuss

This on top of $3.50 fee to ticketmaster per ticket (when face is $0-$14.99 face)

Uh, no thanks. Looks like the charities got rocked.

Anyone have the guts?

Is there a shortage of cheap crap on NE? Haven't done NE in a couple days (waiting on several AU batches lol).

If someone wants to get a charity on there I would gladly give them the full $10 donation no need to set up charity for $1.

Here's the next step.
Buy any thicket.
Add $ donation to charity.
Edit the order to remove the ticket, but keep the charity.

OR
Buy a fully refundable ticket.
Before ticketing, add on a charity hopefully for a $1 donation
Return the ticket.

However, here are the hurdles i see.
When you add the $5 charity ir sometimes will not let you use Amex Express.
I only see the $1 charities on MLB, where the transaction does not have Amex Express
Even fully refundable tickets, I doubt you get back the processing fee.
Refunds are by phone only
and lastly, I see no way to edit the cart to remove the ticket and keep the donation.

Yes but might not be worth it for the charity.

I'd rather give $10 to charity then $5 to TM and $5 in my pocket.

I don't understand your post. If you gave $10 to charity, you would have 0 in your pocket after the Amex credit.
