Thanks, I (obviously) see it now.

I see it now, but not “light” it’s photoshop that has the middle of the top one lighter and the middle one darker to the point that they’re approximately the same. It’s an illusion, but there’s more than optics at play.

the bottom one is still slightly lighter (at least on my laptop) though not nearly as much as it looks in the original picture.

In theory. Different agencies maintain these cameras and only one of them is a cash cow that loses the city money when it’s broken.

What’s true is that if they’re going to install cameras for security, they should make sure they’re working.

I was just pointing out fallacies with the logic presented in the tweet, which was obviously presented that way for the contrast/irony. My happiness is way OT for this thread.

I also think the speed cameras on run by a private company which get paid a commission per ticket ( I think it was something like 60%).

Wouldn’t be surprised? It’s a government racket that’s all about revenues.
