If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Wow that's crazy - it's "ladies" not "lady's".

And how long has it been since we used 7 digit numbers - 20+ years?

It belongs to a literal Zara lady

I don't have those issues. I think moving pictures is easy. Editing a pdf with it has been a lifesaver at times. The spelling thing is annoying though.

On the other hand Excel...
I deal with long numbers everyday. After 15 digits it goes to scientific notation or get chopped off. Living in 08701 doesn't either help.
use databases you wont have these issues
the reason why you're having these issues is because excel is doing guess work trying to figure out the data type, VS database is predefined
maybe Microsoft should release "Excel Klutz" where they ask you what you're trying to do without guessing for you.

Excel’s handling of large numbers is dismal, and in many ad-hoc use cases Excel would be the easiest solution. Setting the column format to numeric doesn’t quite address these issues.

I often use it with results from a database. At the end of the day for me excel/sheets is easier for me to work with than a database.

What if I’m opening a CSV (I think the wizard might handle that if you are really careful with it) or pasting a large dataset? All I know is that I’ve struggled with this in the past, and not because I don’t know my way around Excel.

I just use Google sheets. Its much better for numbers. I have no patience bending over backwards to get things working in Excel

If you need the numbers as numbers (for example, to do math with them) then it's not a solution. But if the numbers are just identifiers (like Client IDs, phone numbers, etc) then telling Excel that they are text will give you a much better experience. There are lots of ways to do this in Excel, e.g. in "Format Cells", or by using the =TEXT() formula, etc) but those settings will be lost if you save it to CSV

My preference is to insert an apostrophe before the number. It's an invisible character in Excel, and is preserved even if you save as CSV.

If you're importing from a CSV, the last step in the Text to Columns wizard lets you identify columns as values or text.
