I also don't see what the natural progression from new style glasses to Hollister is. I'm also not sure why this style bothers them more than every other time the style changes, when everyone got the tiny glasses or the rimless glasses or every other style which was considered just as "hip" at the time

Lemme ask you a question this is btw completely beside the point but I'll bring it up anyway because it cracks me up. These glasses that are in style now were once the most chassidish skvere glasses, and now they are being banned because they're "in style". If they decide now in paris to start wearing long rekels as the new style will they tell everyone to take it off???
In mitzrayim nobody wore glasses or velvet hats or anything like that! the jewish look has nothing to do with what type of glasses just like it hs nothing to do with how many slices your yarmulka has!

I do agree that part is funny as chaikel beat you to it and that is why it was posted and I'm sorry I strongly disagree glasses are a much bigger eisik you can tell things abt a person based on his glasses. And who says thay aren't working on other things? I think it is pretty evident that chassidim put a large emphasis on outward appearance (even lubavitchers wear frocks on shabbos) and they feel this falls into that category. When I was in elementary school they did not let us wear certain articles of clothing such as turtlenecks and T-shirts and not one from my class went off (and yes they were chasic oriented)

I don't think there is any yeshiva that wont let him in they just wont use that name. In yeshivas I've been there have been sefardim with english names at home but in yeshiva everyone calls them by their jewish names
