If someone wants to live a totally sheltered life and never step out of the bais medrash, then I say ashrei chelkum. But to the extent that the vast majority of us do live in this world, a blindfold is not the answer. I want to know where these guys are flying to that warrants leaving their 4 amos. Don't take a trip to the States and show everyone you're so holy that you need a blindfold. Stay home.

The mekubal Harav Gamliel Rabinovitz, shlita, spoke in my yeshiva yesterday morning. He said that people ask him if it's a good idea to go to Uman for R"H. He answers them: if it will cause you to violate even one halacha - even as simple as tying your left shoe before your right - then don't go. Why? Because this (halacha) is written in the Shulchan Aruch, and this (going to Uman) is not. Simple as that.
If these people are really, truly ehrliche enough to be on that level of caring about halacha, they shouldn't be taking chances, even with an eye mask. They should stay home. Period.
