I don't remember. Think it was a rental. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the dashboard was replaced or something. Even though it seems to be that manufacturers make all their cars with gas tanks on the same side, in my limited experience

I've had plenty of cars where the tank is on the other side.
I think it's more common with higher end foreign cars... BMW...

What I meant was that all fords (I think) have it on the same side. So if someone replaced the dashboard, it should have the same symbol. Just a guess though.
