The idea behind the Chazal is that if I can ignore my own needs and daven for someone else who needs the same thing that's Gevaldig. By making these partnerships you're perhaps not really ignoring your own needs, you just figured out a trick. If of course one fulfills the intentions of Chazal it's a beautiful thing.
