What big letters? I'm reading the words in the screenshot that you posted. Their grammar was correct.

Fur hats were in fashion because it was so darn cold.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe switched the chabad hat to a fedora, which in the 40s/50 was mainstream and inexpensive. Had he come to the US today perhaps Chabad would be wearing baseball caps?

If the Rebbe was OK with the concept of keeping up with the trend, I say go for it!

A fedora and a suit jacket is dressy.
A baseball cap and a suit jacket is tacky. Not that people don't/can't do it, but it'll never go mainstream.

unless you're a coach at a game or s/thing

a time and a place! i think walking in to shul with a baseball cap can be disrespectful. if you want to chap a minyan and all you have in your car is a cap then go for it. just don't walk in to an interview for your kid's school in a cap
