On two hands or the whole hand shake?

I would say to refuse the first lady's hand shake and risk embarrassing in public a president known to have a fragile ego would make one a chosid shoteh.

I think that the gemera's example of a chasid shote is specifically and intentionally a life and death situation.

I wasn't speaking about the specific case at hand in that sentence but the general opinion.

In that case,  I would also generally be machmir.

Did I say I was quoting a gemara?

Did I say I was quoting a gemara?

The definition used comes from there.

Someone who is machmir would in this case get away with the bare minimum and definitely not use 2 hands, but somone who is in general meikil I do not see it as a big deal that he used 2 hands.

Literal Moshe at work again. You know there can be a generally accepted view of people as acting like a frumak idiot (i.e. chusid shoiteh) without referring to the gemara you seem to keep at hand whenever someone mentions chusid shoiteh.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

On what basis?

It seemed to me from the video that that may have been reflexive, i.e. how he generally shakes.  It was clearly a yotzei zein handshake.

On what basis?

Because that's the example it chose to use. I think it's obvious why.

Possible, but to say that that was what led him to shake may be quite far fetched. One would need a really clear conscience to make these calculations at the spur of a moment like that.

Or to have anticipated the possibility and thought about it and made a decision beforehand.

Or the most likely is that he follows the psak of those who allow it
