Verizon smart rewards
« on: July 16, 2015, 11:09:21 PM »
Haven't seen this discussed here , doesn't anybody have any good use of Verizon smart rewards  currently have around 200k points but they seem to have very little value . Did anybody get anything worthwhile with them?

Other than redeeming for coupons good at local restaurants, I've never seen anything of value to redeem them on.

I just transferred liability of my VZW account and in the process lost 120k points.  Do they have any value to make it worth fighting for them?

You can get GCs to stores for 10% off (pay $90 for $100 GC)

Anyone with any ideas? Any GC's you can buy and resell for a profit? Can't find anything worthwhile to use my points for

Now I have never purchased this but I have seen a 5$ statement credit that can be purchased for a small quantity of points. It is only offered as a daily deal once every few months,

True, even saw a $10 one at some point. The problem is they sell out within seconds since everyone is trying to unload their millions of points for something of good value.

They currently have many gift cards of $100 for $90 and 1000 points (or $50 for $45 band 500 points)

Seems like best use is to just count them as non existent, rather than wasting time trying to find some other use.

ETA: my guess is that Verizon is using them to create some kind of a fictional liability on their balance sheet and income statement, in order to reduce taxable income. So the best use for these is to learn the big guys accounting tricks.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Why not use them for amazon gift cards?
