When do Startwood 15k Bonus points get credited? After 6 months?

Say I manage to spend $15k on the first day I have the card? Will I receive 25k Starpoints on my first statement (10k standard + 15k bonus)?

The official terms is:
"15,000 Starpoints will be credited to your account 8 to 12 weeks after you reach the spend threshold."

Naturally it makes a big difference if we intend to return the $15k after the bonus points are credited. Most of us would prefer not to front $15k.

There are ways. The point is when do the bonus points get credited so I don't have to sit on the product for 3 months and pay the $15k up front.

In general, do bonus points ever get reversed if you return products. With standard credit card purchasing points they always refund it, but is that the case with the bonus points?

I reached the 15k pretty fast as well, but they didn't credit it until after the 6 months. However I guess you could try calling them after you reach it.....

Did you have to call to get the bonus that quick? Mine didn,t come until after the six months!

Both times that I got the 15k spending bonus, it came automatically on the statement after spending 15k.
The 10k sign-up even took a few extra months.

I had the 10k post on the very first statement. My first time with the Starwood cards - not sure if this changes as you churn more and more.

Old topic- but was looking into this. It seems that the 10K bonus comes faster on the personal card than on the business card. An Amex rep told me this as well...
