if CBS couldnt get you a good deal then you are prob. In bad shape

i would suggest to call a few local branches and ask them to quote a price with unlimited milage until you find something cheap, sometimes they can give you for $50 more then what you found online with unlimited milage.

I see the Budget w/usaa for 395. Now on hotwire it shows 371, in JFK with one of the following agencies, revealed upon booking, including all taxes etc. Is that a better deal? I never used hotwire before - experiences with them , anybody?

I want to rent car from San Jose (pref airport) costa rica.
Return Liberia (LIR) Costa Rica.
March 27 to April 4
4wd is only preference.
I am 24

Trouble is there seems to be a mandatory insurance LW that costs about 20 usd a day

hotwire as i hear doesnt have much bad feedback, theyre reliable. - i personally never used them but you can use them, and theyll give you whichever company they want.

i dont get it, theres noone else (besides maybe 1 or 2 other memebers) that can help out? i figured to to wait and watch what happens and i saw that noone got answered. i dont get it, im sure there are others that know a bit about rental cars and how to get a good deal.

I made a reservation in the end with Budget using usaa. I did not want to lock in with hotwire, rather pay out extra $20 and have the option of cancelling - getting a free car for a few days from a neighbor etc.

What kind of proof do I need? Can I print out a screen capture of their site online? Do I need to open a free checking or savings account and deposit $25? I could not find the info here, I assume it has been mentioned already. Link?
