your best thing to do when renting for so long is to go somewhere outsde of NY where rates are always cheaper so the best i found is with hertz brazil at hoboken NJ (a train ride from brooklyn) CDP 217692 and PC 161416 $625.
i didnt check up much outside of NY, you should try yourself to find a cheaper place.
the only reason why should separate the rental is if you will be using your credit card insurance which only covers 30/45 days otherwise theres no need to separate.

MSY (New Orleans) from after midnight (1230am) Wednesday June 13(flying Tuesday night landing early Wed morning) through Sunday June 17(At about 5pm return). Seems like Enterprise and Dollar are closed at that location. National is 24hrs open. Can't seem to find a working corporate code for national though... I saw on DDF elsewhere that Chabad Corp would work but doesn't seem to discount it at all...

i still see the base rate being the same and without the PC it comes out to $675 per month, im not sure why the PC dosent work maybe after you reserve call to add it on.
the dates i put in were jul. 2 - 31, dont forget to change the country to a south american country so you can get this rate.
