And we have a winner. With some ingenious research by my friend, it turns out that if you buy just the water reservoir/bladder for just $10, wrap it tightly in bubble wrap and place it in your already-owned backpack, you'll have the same results in regards to insulation and convenience as a $40 Camelbak.

Buying the 40oz Hydro Flask now. Big decision to make: which color ;D?

Also, anyone try hanging it (full, obviously) by the cap loop? Is that strong enough, or do I need one of those collars? I would use a carabiner to hang it from my camera bag or something.
