I hate ketchup directly on anything.
Not even french fries?
I just found a new supply of forks!

I think we are making a DDF fear factor edition with Gefilte fish wrapped in eggs dipped in ketchup and peanut butter with a side cup of herring sauce.
Or just make them eat an entire jar of gefilte fish-with the jelly.

The CIA has been using that tactic ever since waterboarding was banned.

My mom used to take a frozen loaf of gefilta,  pour over generous amounts of a ketchup/mayo/spices mix and bake in the oven.

It was actually pretty good.

Or just eat real fish. BH we have access to and can afford food these days. We're not eating stale bread anymore either, ya know.

I can't believe that someone would call himself a foodie and eat more than 1 piece of g.fish in his lifetime.

-1

Do you eat hamburger, franks, meatballs etc?

We can afford real meat...

It's a traditional shabbos food for generations,  which our fathers and grandfather's ate.

It also happens to be very tasty.

I too like a price of salmon, tuna,  sea bass etc.  However that's alongside a price of gefilta.

I do agree however that the Israeli or European brands are atrocious.

My favorite  is the daggim kosher l'pesach gefilta.  It tastes more like fish,  and less like sugar,  filler  etc.

Many say that the reason for minhag of eating GF is to avoid borrer issues with the bones of normal fish.

There is fillet today though. I don't think they did that back in the day.

You can say the same about any traditional jewish food.

Put a loaf of Benz's gefilte in the oven smothered in fresh garlic and cracked peppercorn and try it before you knock it...

Almost any, and I do  ;D. Don't get me started on chopped liver and kishke.

Will do and report back.
