Help. My Android Calendar got Deleted

Last week I added a Facebook account on my phone (which, by the way, does not notify me about any fb updates but that's a topic for another thread), and when I noticed that my calendar events were erased, I also noticed that my Facebook events (other people's birthdays, which I wasn't even aware that they were going to sync into my phone) were on the calendar. May that be the reason somehow?
Other than that, I don't remember anything unusual happening with my phone and, last I can remember, I got a calendar reminder from one of my phone events this past Sunday.
Anyone know how I can recover the events?

Go online to google calendar and see if your events are still there, if they are then you can try to sync them.

How would I lose the stuff?

Many, but not all of my events on Galaxy S Planner are gone. Use a S3 mini. I sync with google calendar but they are not there either. Did not do any upgrades or make any changes that I know of.

Any ideas?
