I don't know exactly but I recall my father mentioning that it's a HUGE difference. And for a residential pool in/at your home I don't see any compelling reason for you to install the expensive cement.

Eek, there goes what I said before, and that if you're careful then there shouldn't be a problem. Additionally, money-wise it may very well be worthwhile to fix holes many times rather than install a cement pool; but do you want the headache?!

Would be nice. Save me a couple hundered bucks on my water bill

Eta: it seems like they do sometimes, and some places. They have to change the water in the truck (dont know how often) so they may be willing to dump it in your pool

I don't think you want to swim in water that's not even good for a fire truck... 
They obviously want to get rid of the water for a reason.

They say its clean but not potable because it went thru thier system

1) there are cities that the fd will fill your pool
2) check with your water company some of them give discounts if you let them know your filling a pool

Looking to buy a decent robotic pool cleaner for my pool. Last year I did it manually, and while effective it took a lot of time. I don't even know where to begin looking for one and what to look for in such a cleaner. Any recommendations on models, where to buy and what to look for etc?
