Need some new way to access CO/UA lounges now that amex will be ending. What other options are out there?

Continental Presideltial Plus CC.

Do cancelled PP CCs work after they are cancelled? Might be worth it to upgrade to this card and downgrade within 30 days to avoid the annual fee...

Does downgrading with Chase actually work? I was under the impression that they are very uncooperative with that.

AMEX Plat gets you into AA, CO, DL, US, and AMEX branded lounges.
And also Priority Pass lounges since that post was made.
If it's not on there you can't get in.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Are they swiping the card in the lounge to make sure its legit and the expiration matches or for another reason?

Just to clarify, Amex plat wont get you into the PP lounges. The free to get with the plat, PP will. ie you will need to have the PP card with you, correct?

Correct.  And free guests is only with the AMEX Plat, not with PP.

This has been answered numerous times. You need a boarding pass from that airline for all lounges except us airways lounges and Amex branded lounges

That's not entirely true, IME.

For the record,  AA branded lounges charges you for wifi unless your an AA Admiral club member while the typical international lounge like club j (that priority pass gets you into) gives you free wifi...

Yea, it stinks. Just had that experience tonight. No free wifi. Boooo.

It's really stupid; I can go to Starbucks and spend $2 and get unlimited free Wifi, but when I enter an airline lounge that costs several hundred a year for access, I have to pay for WiFi?
Same thing for hotels that charge for WiFi, these rooms range from several hundred to several thousand per night, but they still need to charge us for WiFi unless we have platinum status.
Heck, it's those cheapo hotels that actually give us free WiFi!

AA has plenty of free computers with internet and printers, so it's really not the end of the world.

I am travelling with UA, with a long layover (before September 30).
Is a united ticket with AMEX plat good to get into Presidents Club?
