Any news on using a cancelled Plat in DL SkyClub?

They always swiped my card every single time I went while it was still valid.

See my post up thread. If you want more recent data points, I did it last week.

It's the conversation just above your post  I was using a cancelled BP for DW, and they swipe it every time. No issues as long as the card is not expired.

Oh. And I guess no reason cancelled business Plat would be different from cancelled personal Plat.

Just did it successfully today, though my Rav said I could only have things there which wouldn't otherwise be causing them a loss.

Out of curiosity, which items would fall into that category (non loss causing)?  Fruits/vegetables by virtue of the fact that they would go bad eventually anyway?  Certainly alcohol would not, as that is good till consumed (unless you happened to find a beer with an expiration date for the following day...)

I took it to mean stuff that I could get on the plane for free and wouldn't have otherwise bought in the terminal. So basically just soft drinks.

I understood it to mean that you could only have things which aren't free..

How did you explain to him the business deal between Delta and Amex?

I'm not certain Delta charges Amex for each entry that is done.

If that is the case Delta can choose to let you in for having a platinum card, it was up to them to choose to verify if it was still active or not.

Amex definitely pays Delta for each checked suitcase.

Was reported iirc around the time of Amex's 1st quarter investors call. Think they mentioned that specifically as a factor in increased "rewards" costs.
