Ukraine International Airlines

Hello All,

Tried searching in the forums but didn't find anything.

Has anyone every flown with these guys before? Their safety record seems fine, I'm just more interested in personal experiences with their service, comfort, meals, etc.

I've read in other places that they don't have any in flight entertainment, but my flight is on a 767, how could that be?

I've flown with them this past winter. Besides for getting stuck in Kiev for 12 hours (for the supposed blizzard in NY) it was fine. They were a bit difficult to deal with when trying to find out about the delay and all that but otherwise very nice and courteous. The plane did not have personal screens, there were general screens situated throughout the plane and they played a few movies throughout.

Several have told YWN they speculate Ukrainian Airlines was merely holding up the flight for passengers on other connecting flights to arrive, allowing them to have a fuller plane on the flight to New York.

They also write that some people were waiting in the airport since Sunday, even though there was no scheduled flight to JFK on Sunday...

Why is that stupid? I was on a Cathay flight that left over an hour after BOARDING because they were waiting for connecting passengers (from Los Angeles)!

And LH held twice a plane for me for an hour or so. But a 12 hour delay is not for connecting pax, or to fly a "Fuller" plane

Good info to know and be prepared with the facts before checking in:

A few of my family members flew home today from KBP to JFK with PS and they were advised that they can only bring on 1 carry on without any personal bag

They were wrong in this case for several reasons.
1) ticket was purchased before November 2018
2) The rule is supposed to go in to effect Jan 15, 2019
3) It's officially only for short haul flights

So if you are flying this creepy airline be sure to know the regulations to avoid any aggravation

In short, if your ticket includes a checked bag (not if you added it later), you can take a carry on plus a personal bag.
