Am I understanding correctly? he'll be competingin the first heat tomorrow but not in the second unless he miraculously gains 8 spots in the standings?

From what I saw, the Korean had the fastest sprint by far and probably affected the final results more than home court advantage, no?
Yes. The track is very short, only 1.375km. The start deficit is magnified by 3x based on this, approximately. The push is amazingly important, but home advantage is just as big. He would know the pressures, curves, equipment setup that is perfect for the air and ice temperatures, etc.

Awesome job AJ, I don't think I've ever cared to watch the skeleton before let alone being glued, watching the entire 2 heats! You are certainly accomplishing your goal, even the announcers say so :). Good luck in the next heat.
I assume you cant answer now, but the announcers kept talking about how difficult this track is, are they right? Where would this track rank on our list of most difficult tracks?

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Would you say that most crashes/bangs are because of lack of experience/skill or rather the athletes at the back of the pack are trying to catch up which leads to riskier steering?

Also, is there a difference in the track if you go first or last? I would think the slit of ice at the sprinting section would be more broken into and will be easier to glide if you go last, while the rest of the track would be rough to ride due to it being ridden 29 times before you.

Also, how do they resurface the ice, and how frequently is it resurfaced? Is there some sort of Zamboni?
