Did you call or SM? I went through this in 2012, when I applied for personal card 25K about 1 month before it went to 30K. I SM'd AMEX and they said no.

Just my luck again, I applied for business card 12 days ago, now it's 30K. Hopefully the business side is more understanding.

Any obstacles to approval if you were previously hit with FR (4 yrs ago) and closed voluntarily and then was able to get an approval on 2nd attempt for everyday card 3 yrs later? After closing my PRG cards and 5 months later, I tried for SPG card but didn't get approved cos they wanted tax form or something. Ignored it and told them to close the application.

Do Amex require proof of biz if you apply for the biz version?
I think i will have better luck with personal?

apply with you full name as the business name as sole prop

for example the CC would look like

Mr. Chapshnell
Mr. Chapshnell

if they ask for bank statements at least the name will be the same. so I heard. Who knows.. I apply under real businesses

I just asked to be matched to the new offer, and to my disbelief the manager gave me an extra 10k points for the Starwood personal and biz. total of 20k. He did for my wife as well. Easiest 40k points ever.

Amex biz cards are quite easy to get approved for.

can you transfer points to your spouse even if the other one has no SPG card?

I like the biz version but don't want to be victim of FR again with $5k spend in just 90 days. Got FRed 4 yrs ago and had to close my prg and simply cash card.

Got FRed again when trying to apply for SPG personal 2 yrs ago during approval. Told them to just cancel the app. Then one year ago, I tried for everyday card and i got approved without FR.

Have your spouse open a spg account, after 30 days you should be able to transfer the points.

She has 15k spg points with no spg card and expiring in NOV 2015
