UA 2070 TLV-EWR Aug 11 ferry flight

Dan wrote about this http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/71765

I was on this flight

Previously booked with a stopover on AC, but while looking around the UA site, I noticed this flight. I knew it was strange so I called the call back number to see what is was and was told that yes, we have 3 flights  a day from TLV, always. Still didnt jive since I never heard of that, and even though I'm no expert the flight number was strange to me. so I looked at DD and found Dans post!

I could have booked Biz but I saw that the seats were so empty I could probably get a row of 3 seats to myself which would allow me to lie down which is not as good but cheaper and good enough.

They charged me $50/ticket for the change fee.

At the airport the checkin was so empty, only 3 counters and half the time the agents had nothing to do.

In the end, biz  filled up, but not economy. So I had a row to myself in the back. And the rest of my family also. And lots of other happy flyers.

So it was a great flight and worth the money to change.

No but if you can grab a screenshot of the seating i count 26 rows with one or zero flyers.

Funny thing is that i heard that the people who were on the cancelled flight were given free economy plus. But that section is full! And they probably thought it was great.

Nice. But was it that empty?

After being available for sale for just 18 hours United filled up 94% in Business class & 59% in Economy! What does that tell you on NYC-TLV route?

Even so, 70K miles is still probably recognized as $700 of revenue on a flight that had to be ferried anyway.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yeah, I don't get that. Was there sooo many passengers with a Premier status? Doesn't make sense.

And what about pax who booked through partners? Do they get that much $ for those?
