Flying to Israel on 85,000 MR Points
« on: August 12, 2015, 11:43:34 AM »
I've got 85,000 MR points.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can use them to get to Israel for Sukkot 2015?

I've already considered converting them to Avios and flying Air Berlin to Israel but there are no award tickets opened. There are so many options so I figured I'd post it here in case anyone can give me any leads and help narrow my search.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sukkos 2015 on points might be a tough call, other then flying on yom kippur. Consider flying to europe then taking one of those cheap airlines from europe > tlv

I got tickets for succos with UR points used as cash with 25% travel bonus through chase travel. It was 60k points for a $750 flight. It's pretty bad value for the points (1.25 cents p/p), but I don't fly much domestically anyways and don't need business class. The points are easy enough to manufacture that I don't really care.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Could have sold the points, paid for the ticket and earned miles on the purchase. I guess next time...

I know, but it wasn't worth the hassle and to get the account dirty for the extra ¢.22 p/p with only 60k. The time it would take was worth more than the $145 to me. It took me only a few hours to earn the points anyways.

You might want to try flying into AMM with EY,QR, RJ or EK then taking a taxi to israel.

If your talking about the offer posted on DDMS, I don't think there are dates for sukkos time.
