The hack is basically dead.

There's also AA Gold for 25k.

Tell me about it but when that's the only AA card you're eligible for and it's been 65 days since your last Citi app, you get desperate

Even if you've had the AA Plat in the past 18 months, you might still be eligible to get it again with the W:WE conversion. See FT for more details.

so just to confirm: if i did an app for the exec I for sure won't get approved for it? when would it be safe to apply for that again and have a good chance of approval?

If you had the exec and closed it, all things equal, in 18 months.

You'll get approved, but you won't get the bonus if you've opened or closed an AA Executive in the last 18 months.

18 month rule doesn't apply for the AA Business card.
