I want to cancel my card before the 37 days.
1) Should I just downgrade to a free card (if yes which one?), don't want it to hurt my credit by losing quite large credit line?
2) Should I apply for another card (which?)and if denied ask them to move over the credit from this one to the denied one?
3) I don't want it to effect my CIti gold account as didn't receive those miles yet?

1) You can't downgrade until your card is 1 year old.

I tried to cancel my executive card and asked them to transfer my credit line (20K+) to my Citi platinum card and they told me they cant do it. I want to cancel because don't want the AF, however will it hurt my credit if my line drops by so much?

Loosing CL in itself won't affect your credit.
