The whole point of an alliance is connectivity.
does a3 help with connectivity?

It sure does. Many international airlines will just serve ATH, from there connect you to a regional Greek isles flight.

By the way, EY owns 30% of AB, and doesn't seem to care whether they fly to TLV.
Don't they owe like 50% of Alitalia that fly to Israel 3-4 times a day?

Why oh why do we still have this victim mentality even though we're a strong and powerful nation?  Our crying antisemitism al the time makes us look like just a bunch of nebs crying wolf.

Just stop.

I think people are just looking for a reason for why one of the most lucrative US routes gets cancelled right as US goes away.
Especially considering that AA has always been the odd man out when it comes to TLV.

Though I like my TWA explanation better than BDS.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

If TWA is the reason why is AA hiding it?
Why can't they just be up front about it?

Because then they're acknowledging they're on the hook for the money owed.

Is that something that's been kept secret? Otherwise, what are they acknowledging other than the fact that if they fly there they'll have a battle to fight.

+1
Any hint of a victory has BDS crowing about it.

Although this guy on FT has a convincing argument against TWA being the reason.

For all we know, AA was trying to reach an agreement, and failed. Israel may have given their aircrafts protection as they tried to work things out. Just because AA's planes weren't impounded doesn't mean they wouldn't be in the future.

The worker's union would want to publicize their 'power' if that were the case.
And they'd be pressuring the judge to impound imm.
And this kind of stuff would be in the press in Israel. Ppl talk freely over here.

Not really. all they would be acknowledging is that there's a dispute in that country, which is already public knowledge, and therefore it Doesn't make business sense to fly there at the moment.

I just got off the phone with AA. I was able to get rerouted from Newark on a direct flight with El Al! They said they have added El Al as a nonstop option from Newark or JFK!

At first the woman on the phone offered the same Iberia/BA options. I asked her to check if there were any direct options from any other airport within 300 miles. She checked her computer and said El Al came up as an option from Newark and JFK. She told me it must have recently changed because she had assumed the only options were Iberia/BA through Europe. I changed my flight and now am waiting for the confirmation email...

That elal info can be very useful if elal reestablishes their partnership with AA.
