Batchy to the true but sad rescue. I guess Dan still feels that its worth the HUCA in potentially getting a very nice or uninformed agent that might just book you in LY direct. My two times did not work out and they were aware of the rules and regulations on the spot. Will give it another shot tomorrow..

Once you have notes in the PNR it's unlikely HUCA will work unless you get a TA to remove the notes...

The idea of HUCA works as LONG some a$$ hole does not note the ticket WARNING not to give you LY etc. (they usually note it when they feel that they will have to pay out of pocket for your new LY tkt

)

The way not to find your self in such situation is by not arguing with AA reps, you can politely try to convince them to give you LY but once you see that the agent is stubborn, DO NOT ARGUE. It will not help. It will only cause the rep to put a not on the tkt and then the deal is sealed.

One more important thing is to write down the name of the rep you're speaking with. So when you call again and the same rep picks up you just give her the busy signal. By speaking twice to the same agent is causes here to put notes as well.
