Book/Gift Suggestions for a Bar Mitzvah?

Any idea what to get a boy for his Bar Mitzvah (other than a check)?

I'd like to get him a book, but I don't know what kids are reading these days - or what wouldn't have inappropriate content. I think he's already read Lord of the Rings, so that's out. It can't have any swearing, drugs, or romance.

I'm open to non-book ideas as well. Something Jewish-related would be nice, but I don't know what would be Jewish that he wouldn't already have.

Trying to keep it in the $15 range.

A good biography. I can't think now of whom.
I've given A Tzaddik in Our Time about R. Arye Levine for more than one bas mitzvah.  I first read it in high school and loved it so much, I bought my own copy.
