Just to clarify, and to connect this with what is going on at the WFX5 thread, they're both true. Less is more. Spell things out less and talk about more deals.

How about we learn from the OP's post? Do you think this is the only time this ever happened? It you were not aware of glitches like this now you are. Wouldn't it be wise the next time CVS has a new GC to test this out? There was a Safeway affiliate that this worked for almost a year. This happens at other places also from time to time. The tools are there for everyone to use.

He could have and for the record I did not know about it until a couple of days ago. I am grateful no one posted about it except some wannabe hero at FT.

Serious comment: I know I mentioned it already but the feigned indignance of the subject is just so wildly inappropriate. (At least I sure hope it's feigned and not genuine. Talk about entitlement.) Every time I see the subject heading, it hits me again. And I guess that is just PART of why I think this whole "secrecy" shtick smells bad. If it were really about discretion being the better part of valor, then why the gaudy post-mortem after the fact?

The purpose of forums like this is to learn from them. Understand how deals work so you can look for them yourself instead of feeling they should be handed to you on a silver platter like MosheD. The premier site for MS was FWF. The best of the best no longer post in public anymore. Is that what you want to happen on a large scale here?

IMO if a deal is too hot to last once public, it should be shared via hints, or pm.

It is not this simple. Most deals have nine lives in one form or another. Take this deal. It was not the first time this has happened at CVS and IMHO it will not be the last. This thread will have more people looking for this glitch. This will cause it to die sooner next but the flipside is more will get in on it.

The key to these deals are networking. It use to real easy to do this but now it is getting harder and harder.

Here is a real simple example. This is going back many years. Citi had a card that was 5x on all purchases for 6 months. This card was churnable every six months. Many figured out on their own there was a way to still get this card after the app was pulled. This went on for over two years that I know of. This knowledge was then use for other apps with great success. No one to my knowledge every leaked this while it was going on. So to those who say the deal would have died anyway have no idea what they are talking about.

There will always be disagreement about which deals should be shared and that is fine. The position that all deals should be shared is just wrong. Then to bash those who helped so many members and gave more to this forum than they ever took is well...
