Starwoods Sign Up Bonus
« on: September 14, 2008, 02:45:20 PM »
Now that the 10,000 starpoint bonus seems to be coming to the end of it's churning life, as has been posted here already, if I cancel all my Starwood cards, and reapply in a couple of months, do you think I will be able to get the bonus again?
Thanks

Where was this posted earlier? As I understood it the Starwood Amex was never trully churnable as you had to cancel first and reapply.
Did something change?

Experience from the past few months seem to indicate that it's at least getting harder to get the bonuses again, or at best it's a case of YMMV, depending on the rep you speak to, etc. etc.

I've still been successful at churning the SPG AMEX.
Sometimes it posts automatically, and sometimes it takes a few phone calls, but no problems so far for me!
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

last time i tried, after lots of phone calls and finally speaking to a supervisor he would only give 5000 as a goodwill gesture even though he said i was no longer eligible.

Open one, get the signup bonus, close it, wait at least 30 days, open one again.

search the forums, there are plenty of comments regarding churning starwood cards. Business vs. personal etc...
