Sorry, no pics of Crowne Plaza. But I guess I would say the room was more spacious than I would have predicted. The decor was modern and clean. I wouldn't call it an elegant hotel, but very functional, and as I said, perfect (for us) location.
Stayed there as well, a few years back. IIRC customer service was outstanding, and rooms were clean, new and modern.

Yes. He is 17.5 yo.  Our attitude is that within months, or perhaps already, given the Internet, he has access to essentially everything everywhere.  He was pretty shocked and disgusted by it all, but I don't think it had any adverse impact on his psyche.
Interesting approach.

Good job on the Amsterdam installment, doesn't seem half expensive as other nearby European cities.
I recall the sandwich place to be pretty expensive.... But of course,  it depends on the exchange rate

Did you purchase your tickets for the Ann Frank museum on their website? im going in about a month and it seems like tickets are all booked or not for sale yet. Any advise how to get tickets

Yes. Definitely on the website. I suspect they are all sold out. You should probably try to call them tomorrow and speak with live person. The queue was horrendous -- around the block -- but we bypassed it completely. You might be able to buy from a broker but be careful: we were in analogous situation for the Van Gogh museum and bought tickets online through broker and turns out the tickets got us no meaningful ability to bypass the queue.

Checked back this morning and they had one time slot available, so I was able to purchase my tickets.  ;D

Any other attractions you recommend I pre-purchase?

Whew. Yasher koach.
Looking back at my TR, I realize I never completed it.  Add to my to-do list....
After the Sal Meijar Sandwich shop lunch, we went to the Rijksmuseum, which had no line and did not require advance ticket purchase.  Nice stuff there, but I can't say it was a "must-do."
We then went to the Heineken experience. Had a terrific time. There was a line, but I was able to purchase my tickets online at that time, and then we were able to bypass the line, so no need to advance purchase.
We had a great time at the Heineken experience.   I never really liked Heineken beer, but boy it sure tasted good there.

Well, there is a walk through the red light district. See posts up thread about whether appropriate to bring your teenage children. ;)

AMS-TLV

AMS-TLV: Transavia, revenue ticket.

I'm considering booking this route on this airline with kids, how's their bag fees & actual flight experience
