How can I get my Seat on a British Bus. Booking

I booked now the first time a Business class seat on a British Flight from LHR to EWR. I used Points that I got on my British Visa Use.
But after I finalized the booking and paid the fee. I realized that they will not let me select a seat now. they charge $135 extra for the Seat Selection on a Business Class. I had never before had such a problem with American or United or Lufthansa etc.
I allway were able to select a seat on a Business class booking for no charge.
